I am Vivien Tatham: Back to the Meatpacking District // Thoughts on my upcoming Exchange Semester in Singapore

Guten Mittag ihr Lieben. Das ist mein letzter Outfit Post aus New York, jedenfalls für dieses Jahr, ihr wisst ja wie gerne ich nächstes Jahr zurück ziehen möchte. Ich trage wieder ein Cape, das von meiner Freundin Kathrin Henon designt wurde und habe den Rest des Looks eher schlicht gehalten, da das Cape schon sehr viel Aufmerksamkeit auf sich zieht. Mir gefällt besonders gut, dass es Zweifarbig und nicht wie viele andere Capes einfach nur schwarz ist. Viel mehr Winterkleidung werde ich dieses Jahr vermutlich nicht mehr kaufen, da es in weniger als sechs Wochen für mich schon nach Singapur geht und es dort konstante 30-33 Grad sind. Für mich als Sommer Mensch ist das ein Traum, weil ich liebe die Wärme.

Ob ich das in zwei Monaten dann immer noch sage, werden wir sehen, aber momentan liebe ich die Vorstellung. Als ich mein Auslandsjahr in Kalifornien gemacht habe, war es auch relativ warm das ganze Jahr über und es hat gerade mal zwei Wochen aus dem Jahr geregnet und ich habe es sehr genossen. Generell bin ich schon ganz gespannt was die fünf Monate in Singapur mit sich bringen werden und was ich alles erleben werde. Da ich natürlich nicht die ganzen fünf Monate frei nehmen kann um nur rumzureisen - ich werde auch Kurse an der Uni belegen - überlege ich schon welche Länder ich für welchen Zeitraum idealerweise bereise. Wenn ihr irgendwelche Tipps habt, gerne her damit. Länder die ich auf jeden Mall bereisen möchte sind Malaysia, Vietnam, Bali, Thailand, Laos, Kambodscha und die Philippinen. Ob das alles realisierbar ist weiß ich noch nicht, aber ich bin auf jeden Fall schon ganz gespannt. Ich habe mich dazu entschieden schon vor der Einreise eine Wohnung in Singapur zu suchen, da ich ungerne den Stress vor Ort habe schnell eine Wohnung zu finden. Für jetzt bleibt nur noch die eine oder andere Impfung übrig und dann kann es auch schon bald losgehen.

Good afternoon peeps. This will be my last outfit post from New York for now but you all know how much I have fallen in love with the city and that I would love to move back next year after my return from Singapore. I am wearing another cape, designed by my friend Kathrin Henon, and combined it with black items only because I thought the cape attracted a lot of attention already. Furthermore, I love that the cape is bi colored and not black like many other capes and did not want to distract from this. I will probably not add any more winter clothes to my wardrobe this year as I will be moving to Singapore in less than six weeks and there the weather is pretty constant with temperatures around 30-33 degrees. I love the warmth and could not think of a better place to skip those awfully cold winter months. Unfortunately I will not be able to travel the whole five months since I have to attend classes so I am already trying to figure out when I can visit which country, so which country is worth a weekend trip and which ones require more time. Countries I definitely want to see are Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos and the Philippines. If you have any recommendation on how much time is required for each country I'd love to hear it. I am not sure whether it's manageable in this short time to visit every country but I cannot wait to find out. Fortunately I already have an apartment in Singapore which means all I have left to do is get injections and then the adventure can begin!
